Changing our own config is no problem. But the main issue is, should we allow a public utility type dhcp to change our hostname?

Since RH 7.2 it changes my hostname, so I alway start dhcpcd with the -h option:
dhcpcd -h myhostname eth1
add -R if you don't want it to over write your /etc/resolv.conf (I use my own cache DNS)
