I made this apt repository of Phoebe for myself in order to speed up my K12LTSP testing, but everyone is free to use it if you wish. Please let me know if you wish to mirror this repository, I will give you rsync access.

apt required a hack to /usr/include/rpm/rpmds.h in order to compile properly.

By default apt will not install any packages that replace or conflict with Red Hat packages. Several optional channels are available that may possibly conflict, described below.

/etc/apt/sources.list:
# Red Hat 8.0.92 (phoebe) beta Fedora apt repository
# http://fedora.mplug.org
rpm http://phoebe.mplug.org apt phoebe updates fedora
# Official Macromedia Flash Player for x86 Linux repository
rpm http://macromedia.mplug.org/apt redhat/8.0 macromedia

# Please add components to line #3 if you wish to use these packages.
# Component | Description
# ====================================================================
# phoebe Phoebe initial packages
# updates Phoebe updates
# fedora Fedora
# unstable Fedora Unstable (CVS, nightly builds, etc.)
# k12ltsp Fedora K12LTSP (Linux Terminal Server Project)
# kerneldevel Packages modified for 2.5.x kernel testing

Fedora currently contains apt, synaptic, lvcool, gtkspell, and ccache. ccache is useful for saving time when developing RPMS, while lvcool keeps my Athon laptop from overheating. (APM and Phoebe ACPI doesn't seem to put Athlons into STPGNT state like 2.5.x ACPI. This state makes for dramatic temperature reductions during idle. Should this be filed as a Phoebe bug/RFE?)

Fedora Unstable currently contains only gaim-0.60cvs. It seems to work very nicely, integrating into the systray icon of both Gnome or KDE's panel and fixing the text disappearance bug that exists in gaim-0.59-11.

Fedora K12LTSP will soon contain packages needed to run Red Hat as a K12LTSP thin client server. I'm currently working on porting these from K12LTSP 3.0 beta.

kerneldevel currently contains modifications to modutils and mkinitrd in order to properly test 2.5.x kernels on Phoebe. mkinitrd contains a small patch that prevents 2.4.x kernel installation from breaking if someone has module-init-tools installed. I hope this patch can make it into Rawhide because it shouldn't effect anything else. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=80119

Please report any non-RH bugs that you may find to the Fedora discussion list. Suggestions welcome too.
