I cruised the Dell Forums till I found someone else with an ATI card. I just used the 1024X settings. Maybe I should write up the how-to for this notebook and put it on the linux on laptops sight.

If you call them up and get transferred enough times (do NOT tell them you're running Linux or they'll hang up on you), you may be able to find someone who knows the timings for your monitor. However, just try generic LCD with the right res.
