kind of rude and nasty, not always, but enough that I wouldn't want to
trust them to fix my equipment. As far as parts, I just buy what I need and
what I know, I don't ask questions and the price is usually better then
CompUSA.

If I had a Compaq laptop to fix, I'd at least make sure the place is a
certified HP-Compaq Repair Center. I've been hearing good things about the
"new" HP, reps are nice and they stand by their computers. YMMV.

I've also been there more than a few times for hard drives and other
components, and they have been helpful gave me good prices and
service, including giving me a little bit of a price break when I
bought $600 worth of components a month ago to build a new system. I
was really suprised to hear people have had trouble there.

Hope this is not redundant. I wrote earlier today, but server kicks me out. I had good luck replacing a hard drive on my Micron laptop by ordering from the internet and following the instructions. Good luck.
