Can other hosts ping you?
Could there be an IP address conflict with another host?
Are all hosts in the same network/subnet?
If not, is that network accessible via your current route?

Just a few ideas.

Subject: [luau] Solaris x86 ver 8 and Intel Pro 10/100 S Nic Problem

Hi

Guess its my turn to post with a problem.

I have installed Solaris x86 ver 8 with 2 Intel Pro 10/100 S nics. The nics
accept configuration (ifconfig comes back fine) and I can ping both the
local
interface and the local box's IP address but cannot ping any other host on
the
same wire.

I even ran snoop to look for traffic and all I see is ARP s for the address
I am ping but no ther traffic.

Any ideas.

Thanks for your help

Bill
