Security can be another issue. RR is like being on a LAN, as you share a
common node with users using the same block of IPs. Not that DSL is not
subject to hacking, but Cable is a bit more vulnerable.

My experience is the same. Use RR for leaching. Use DSL for
constistent latency.

I believe those programs mostly adjust your MTU. That had a more
profound effect when using dial-up. You notice less gains over
broadband.
