True enough.  However, for me, it's the political
nature of your email that was annoying.  There are
plenty of ways to express those views without posting
them to a list that has a very well-defined and
specific _technical_ purpose.

I think it's a stretch to think that simply labeling
an email Off Topic gives one the license to post
political messages.  IMHO, politics, just by its
nature, does not belong in this forum.

There are any number of political issues that someone
may decide affects the entire nation.  Those don't
belong here either.

OK.  It's clear that you feel strongly about this and
were doing what you felt was the right thing.  Problem
is, that others might feel just as strongly with the
exact opposite view.  Should they now respond making
sure they carefully label it "Off Topic"?
