I don't know anyone using Packet8 but I know one person that is using
Vonage voip from www.vonage.com. No complaints from this person at all.
Neither service has the 911 capabilities of a POTS line but Vonage
offers more in that area then Packet8 does. I would have canned my
Verizon phone service months ago and went with Vonage if they offered a
phone number in my local calling area. They are close but do not offer
numbers in my county that would be considered local. I would not want
my friends and neighbors to have to pay long distance fee's just to call me!
