Salary.com says Sr. SysAdmins make (median) $84,840...sounds like BS to me :)
Of course, we don't have all the details (i.e., size of company, privately/publicly held company, government contractor/non-government contractor, etc.). You might be able to get something in the $65-70K range with a government contractor...but you'll most likely need a security clearance before you're even considered for the job. I haven't seen anything in the local papers for anything in the previously mentioned salary range. Good luck :) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Mike Ballon Sent: Thursday, 01 April, 2004 07:18 To: Linux/Unix Advocates/Users Hawaiian community discussion list Subject: [LUAU] Somewhat off topic I'm trying to move back to Hawaii after taking a job here in the mainland the last 2 1/2 years. I had this job placement firm tell me that the cost of living is 20% higher in Hawaii but the salaries are 20% lower then where I'm at. When I was there I was in the military but my consulting business brought in more then what this person was telling me it just wasn't on a fulltime scale. So the question is, how does salary.com's scale for Hawaii compare to real life salaries for a Sr. Sys Admin?
