The core desktop installation fits on a single CD. Security updates (and major bug fixes) are backported so there are relatively few updates on a freshly installed system. I installed it on a machine yesterday and it only needed 90 updates. Comparatively, a minimal install of Fedora Core 5 last week required over 340 package updates (including dependencies) with over 247 Mb to download. A not so minimal install of FC5 with Office and Development packages selected required 454 packages (including dependencies) with a download size of over 541 Mb. There are talks that Ubuntu will release a 'point' release to this latest release. ~ Julian
