"More than 70 million Windows users will no longer be eligible for software security updates under a Microsoft Corp. policy to take effect July 11... Microsoft will end support for Windows 98, Windows 98 Special Edition (SE) and Windows Millennium Edition (ME)" That represents 70 million users who didn't upgrade to Windows XP and probably don't care about Vista. Ideal candidates for becoming Linux users. Avoid strength / attack weakness. Grab the users that Windows can't be bothered with and can't make money out of. It's also another reason why some Mac users with PowerPC hardware are moving to Linux. One day Apple won't support/sell Mac OS on PowerPC... Apple would hope sooner rather than later. Optionally, you can choose not to render your G5 obsolete hardware. Again, sooner rather than later. Also from the article: "Microsoft had planned to stop supporting the older versions in January 2004." Yeah, that's only because "Longhorn" was expected to ship in late 2003. ~ Julian
