---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Jim Martin <[email protected]> Date: Mon, Aug 26, 2013 at 1:57 PM Subject: [past-noc] An ops developer role available at ISC To: Past-NOC <[email protected]> Gentlepeople, This time around we need a perl developer for our operations group here at ISC. Forgive the old schtick, but here goes ...We're the guys that develop bind and dhcpd. What you may not know is that we also operate F-Root, which serves about a third of the global root DNS traffic through over 50 sites around the world, as well as provide hosting to public benefit projects through several datacenters here in the bay area. To support this we've got our own dark fiber network here in the bay area, and a WAN to several other key datacenters in the US. You can read the job posting below, but the key take away is that we're looking for someone who's not afraid to jump into existing code and figure it out and keep it running with limited involvement of the original authors (who have left the company but are still willing to help). You'd also be helping out with some of the day to day operations involved in keeping our network and F-Root up and healthy. What you also might not know is that ISC is a 501C3 non-profit, with the explicitly stated goal of making the Internet better. While working at ISC will never net you the biggest paycheck in Silicon Valley, you can generally sleep well knowing you're doing good work for the community. So, if this sounds interesting to you, or you know of someone this might fit, check out jobs page at http://www.isc.org/?jobs=senior-operations-developer-devops or just submit a CV to [email protected]. If you have any questions, just ask. Thanks! - Jim Martin, ISC Director of Operations Senior Operations Developer – DevOpsBackground Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) develops commercial quality opensource software for the Internet Community.
