I should say also that I believe upgrading using the live image is preferable but I need to prove that :^) I was only able to get the Upgrade (image) test added during the Raring cycle and I think a lot of people don't even know it exists ............... or how it works :^( The whole story is long and I had to butt heads with a member of the installer-team, and I lost! I think if I'd not lost the live image could have worked quite well to recover from an interrupted upgrade via 'release-upgrader'. Give me a couple of weeks to post a proper response.
