Hiyas, The 'fix' which is kernel based, will not land in 12.04. (So, no last minute kernel!). After chatting to the -release team they recommend that as the bug does seem very limited, using the workaround at comment #24 should be sufficient. They do not feel it is needed to be noted in the release notes, but having it at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/Documentation/FAQ/Workaroundswould mean any of our teams would have quick access to it.
The -release team are going to keep an eye on it, to see if duplicates start to crop up, if they do - it will be retrospectively added to the release notes. As far as they can tell, it only affects a very limited setup (famous last words). I've emailed Tom to ask if he can give us a set of instructions that he carried out re: #24 @Karl, it is worth mentioning this at the 'main' QA meeting, as the -release team think it may affect all flavours, it is a confirmed bug but seems very little in those it affects.
