Phillw, I just noticed that
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/GetLubuntu/JasonOdoom does not mention the Alternate CDs at all. If the Lubuntu Manual will suggest people with 512MB or less use them, and that manual points people to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lubuntu/GetLubuntu then logically... that page is going to need to link to the Alternate images! Basically, the Lubuntu Manual and the official GetLubuntu start page need to be consistent with each other. Did we decide at some time in the past specifically *not* to mention them? It seems odd to include the Minimal Install approach, but not to mention or link to anything about the Alternate images, which are more familiar and easier to use than the Minimal Install (netboot/mini.iso) approach tends to be for most people. Maybe the GetLubuntu wiki page needs to say something more like: * Standard PCs (768MB or more RAM) <links to LiveCD images and torrents go here> * Standard PCs (512MB to 768MB RAM) <links to Alternate Images and torrents go here> * Standard PCs (Less than 512MB RAM) <link to Minimal Install page goes here> * Macs (with Intel CPUs) <links to Mac images go here> * Macs (with PowerPC CPUs) <links to PowerPC images go here> ... Then you or Jason can update the exact RAM amounts later, once Ali has completed and documented his testing of zRAM, and there is a decision on what the numbers really truly should be. And one of us can edit the manual sources to match those corrected numbers for RAM size.
