Marco Dissel commented on LUCENENET-106:
----------------------------------------
Indeed with form1.cs it seems to be fixed (added innerCache = new
WeakHashtable() as well ), but in my asp.net 1.1 webapplication i still get a
big memory leak (> 500mb) when the site is searched and a backend thread is
updating the index. After some hours or ~ day the site is dead with a
OutOfMemoryException.. If i remove the extra sorting in the search there's no
memory leak..
I traced the site with debugdiag, see the stracktrace in the above comment.
ps. no code that i can copy/paste here...
Thanks
Marco

> Issue Type: Bug

> readerCache Hashtable field (see FieldCacheImpl.cs) never releases some hash
> items that have closed IndexReader object as a key. So a lot of Term
> instances are never released.
> Java version of Lucene uses WeakHashMap and therefore doesn't have this
> problem.
> This bug can be reproduced only when Sort functionality used during search.
> See following link for additional information.
> Steps to reproduce:
> 1)Create index
> 2) Modify index by IndexWiter; Close IndexWriter
> 3) Use IndexSearcher for searching with Sort; Close InexSearcher
> 4) Go to step 2
> You'll get OutOfMemoryException after some time of running this algorithm.
