If you don't want to use the "FieldCacheImpl.Cache" class, don't call
"search.Search(... new Sort("field"))" .
Just search and then sort the result by yourself.

I so your patches, and if I just comment out the cache, what is the 
worst thing that I can get? Just only be without cache or the order
