actually, there IS a port by Robert Chapman unless I'm mistaken:

I had not yet the time to check it.

There isn't any port of Spatial.Net under contrib.  If someone has ported it, 
and want to contribute it, that would be great.

I'm not familiar with any of the spatial search libraries in the contrib 
section, however they may need to be updated to use 2.9's numeric fields.
