Got myself a copy while in Dakar; been installing/upgrading my laptop for the
better part of the last 48hrs. Some comments:

o SuSE always know how to blow you away with each new release of their distro.

o They have given KDE a cool, SuSE-iec interface; it looks solid and mature.

o KDE is alot faster than I was experiencing it in 8.2 Pro, perhaps thanks
go to the 2.6 Kernel too.

o System integration is marvelous - does seem like the eXPloder in a few
cases (not meant to sound bad :)).

o Driver support, as always, is phenomenal - at last, I can use my Bromax
10/100Mbps PCMCIA Ethernet card (should really get a new laptop).

o Software modem (Lucent) was seen on the laptop too, although all one really
needed to do was compile the 'ltmodems' package and you'd be good go. Did
this for 8.2 Pro, but the fact that it's now default in 9.1, is great!

A few disappointments:

o They still don't include some crucial packages by default:

        > glibc-devel
        > make
        > autoconf
        > automake
        > gcc <-- REALLY!!!!
        > libtool

o Bastille doesn't feel right - perhaps I need more testing; harden_suse
  is/was great!

o Looks Xine is the default media player - oh well, YaST <return>

Overall, still a little sluggish (KDE), but far better than 8.2 Pro.

Mark.
