well i wouldnt say changing "passwords" would be very useful because you
will have to change the "passwords" back, and imagine if you had to
remember "passwords" for ~100 people , it would suck ...!! the idea
below
is actually not bad at all , if i was to play with "passwords" i would
use
the:
"passwd" -l <user_name> ( would lock the "password" for this user and
the user cant really pop their e-mail ,
thats if theyare systems users.)
"passwd" -u <user_name> ( would unlock the "passsword" and the user can
then use their old "password")
the above would be a quick and effective way of disabling an account ,
you could take it a step further and write a shell script to send a user
a message when they log on which tells them that their account is
disabled , thats if they have pine/mutt access to your box.
