While I would agree that Linux is 'almost there' as far the desktop is concerned, 2004 will definately be the year when Linux on the Desktop will emerge as a viable alternative to Windows.As more manufucturers include support for hardware and vendors make installation and configuration of Linux easier,more users,companies and institutions will take it on. It is only a matter of TIME!
