I'm glad you are trying to understand how OSS differs from FS. It's not
an easy thing to understand - I get chewed on by RMS each time I try.
English is part of the problem. Free has multiple meanings. But there is
no word for free that means freedom (as opposed to cost) like in French,
where they have libre. It appears that to get all dimensions of the
argument right, Spanish may be the best language.

All this is made even more confusing by OSS. OSS focuses on the software
source code availability, whereas FS focuses on the freedom of the user
and arrives at source code availability as a necessary side effect
gained by giving a user freedom.
