I think it may depend on the version of Samba, I believe that Ver 3.x has
fixed a lot of the AD problems with Win2K Servers. Also maybe discuss a bit
of IPSEC Encryption between the finance dept machine (Windows presumably)
and the Win2K Server, just to be sure. You can also setup specific IPSEC
policies depending on groups.

Subject: lug_: Linux PDC and Win2K Server

Hello Guys

I have the following request by a client:

He needs a Linux PDC set up for him for the LAN, he will also need a win
2k server to run some SUN accounting software for the finance department.

However, he would like the finance dept. to be the only one with access to
the Win 2k server but at the same time having access to the Linux PDC
which shall be the file server for the entire LAN. In essence, when a
finance guy logs onto the LAN, he should have access to resources on both
servers however when any other guy logs onto the LAN, they have access to
only the file server. What is the best way to go about it ?

>From my research, Trust relationships seem to be broken when it comes to
samba and win2k.
