I think it may depend on the version of Samba, I believe that Ver 3.x has fixed a lot of the AD problems with Win2K Servers. Also maybe discuss a bit of IPSEC Encryption between the finance dept machine (Windows presumably) and the Win2K Server, just to be sure. You can also setup specific IPSEC policies depending on groups.
