My work place uses an Alt-N Mdaemon mail server that now has over 100

Windows).

Is there anyone on this list who has had experience moving users from
Mdaemon to a linux based email server? Mdaemon stores users' address
books in xml format, email messages in text files (separate files for
each msg), has a web based interface called WordlClient, antivirus and a
host of other features. Their website is www.altn.com

last time i did something similar was 4 years ago.. but i recall that m-daemon can export its userdb to a format you like, either CVS, tab/comma/whatever delimited, etc .. and this definitely becomes easier to move to linux.

Also, I remember that m-daemon emails (well, the version i used at that time)... were stored in maildir format. I remember using a converter to get them from maildir to mbox (because the maildir format of mdaemon was not really "linux-friendly".., but all worked well after the conversion.

i hope this helps.

regards,

ernest.
