Dear colleagues, As announced a few days ago, with effect from February 22nd, AfriNIC is moving a step ahead in its transition process. We have effectively started PHASE II of the transition - operating as a full RIR with a second opinion from other RIRs - Consequently, our whois server is online and all resource requests must be sent directly to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You must use the various templates available at: http://www.afrinic.net/documentation.htm#templates At this point, we do not have something similar to the 'LIR portal' (RIPE NCC) or 'MyAPNIC' (APNIC). All updates must be done through our e-mail interface. Please find the necessary information under the Database and Registration Services section of our web site (www.afrinic.net). Further more, public information about registration in the AfriNIC service region is now provided by whois.afrinic.net (port 43). You can query the server using any regular whois client. To have access to some advanced features, you may need to use the RIPE NCC whois client which can be found at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/whois/. A web interface for whois queries will be online soon. We will be happy to answer any questions from you regarding this process. Please send your questions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Kind regards. Adiel A.
