George ,Benjamin and Mark have given the same clue so chose.Machines you want to ban will still disturb your LAN .They will try to look for the IP's that can access the LAN they might even put the IP od the server ;-) !.I advise you to attack first on layer 2 or 1 you either remove their network cards or block the MAC addresses at the Switch level Hope this helps my friend.

Not necessarily true, if a user knows your IP addressing scheme, gateway, dns
(easily obtainable from one of the PCs getting DHCP config info), he can
configure that box to access the LAN/internet.
How about plugging it off the LAN, disabling the network card (BIOS/OS)
[password protected of course]....

Methinks that what it boils down to is why you don't want that Box to have
LAN/internet access and how many users have physical access to that box.
