enlightenment e17 (enlightenment.org) is a very young but it is already very promising. it is based on very new powerful light weight libraries written from scratch called EFL (enlightenment foundation libraries). Enlightenment's interface capabilities are much greater that those of MAC OSX, You can even write a DVD player in 17 lines of code. Here is a link to a short description of the libraries.
