Hmm well...... seen it crawling in slowly on their servers like
Buddo(still some widoze 98 boxes),Green Hill (still some widoze 98
boxes) ,Agakhan etc .But I think they have no choice UNEB has to trush
it's IT curriculum for secondary schools mainly the OS part .It's like
they taught us at Namilyango Junior that the Pope is the next guy to
God.Same thing kids think it's only windows out there totally
misleading.Besides the Linux server is always in a dirty corner with no
monitor :-\ .The Computer Lab Technician/Master just has to follow some
power cable to locate it when like there's a problem .

Mr. Ndaula Ahmed,
Are there any secondary schools in Uganda where OSS is being used?

Leslie Fletcher, chair of governors at Parrs Wood High School in south
Manchester and campaigns manager for the UK's Unix and Open Systems User
Group, offers a personal perspective on how schools can benefit.
Schools using open source software can develop their information and
communication technology (ICT) as they think best, without worrying
about
software costs and licensing because OSS is usually free.
The software a school needs to keep its computer network running and
secure, send and receive e-mail, access the internet, protect users from
viruses, spam and unsuitable content and carry out office tasks such as
word processing is all available free by using OSS.
