The only problem I see here is the syntax expected in the transports file.
Will look it up and see if i can find anything.

What about the possibility of telling Postfix early on to
use one file to one specific remote domain name, so that
all you do is place just the domain (without the
'smtp:somemailhost1' stanza) in the transport file,
having predefined the next hop early on, say, in the
main.cf?
