Not just you. Suddenly, YIM won't let me log in from my
Mac. From Windows, it keeps bouncing me in and out with
its own latest software. Trillian connects and then
disconnects. Adium (basically GAIM equivalent) won't
let me in either, saying Yahoo! has changed its
authentication system.
I run YIM on a Windows box I use to simulate customer
experience; it's pretty steady (running the latest
Windows version 7.0.2.120 - with voice), except it will
bump me off at least once a week, but nothing more.
My YIM for Linux is great (logs in much quicker than
Windows, ~700ms), but I hardly use it.
Also, mail I am sending out is not appearing to come
back in. There's something funny going on here too.
Thinking about the WMF backdoor, maybe this is a new
one trying to spread? Call me paranoid ...
Wouldn't say. I send mail to Yahoo! using Exim running on
my laptop. 'yahoo.co.uk' bound mail is even more
problematic. The thing that worries me the most is that
even on a Sunday, when I see relatively low activity for
my network, I still get these errors, leading to me
believe the problem lies on or about the Yahoo! network.
