Hullo all,

The LinuxChix meeting will be on 17th february in the i-network boardroom
at 4:30pm and not 10th
as earlier communicated by Milton,

Linuxchix Uganda is a group of women that is birthing in Uganda, who
are interested in using Linux and Open Source Software, both as back and
end users.

We are planning to set up a real team of women in Uganda who will be
able to break the irony of 'believing that women can not do the technical
stuff'and this will start with Linuxchix Uganda.

Amidst us we want to build developers, Technical support teams, and end
users, because much as we want more women to be involved, some still don't
know what we mean when we talk about Linux and Open source,

so amidst us, we are also planning real advocacy particularly targeting
the women in Uganda to realise the beauty and advantages they
obtain while using OSS and Linux and to bring them on board.

This will help us build a strong team of women who know
how to deal with real technologies and specifically using Open Source
Software because of the freedoms and advantages they will obtain.

Thanks,

Evelyn Namara
