Did you have the backport sources enabled? For example Compiz on 7.04
was most definitely beta in my opinion. I have been running Kubuntu
7.04.

The only application I have consistant issues with is Evolution, and I
suspect that has a lot to do with the scalix plugin I am using.

I keep being amazing how I plug in scanners, webcams, tv tuners, mobile
phones and once you i.d. the right app it just works.

I tried Mandriva 2007 Spring earlier this year and had massive
difficulties with USB devices freezing my machine.

I would like to point out I am using a Toshiba M55 Laptop. The power
saving works better than the default Windows Toshiba app, which once I
had added 1Gb of memory refused to work properly, i.e. not
un-hibernating.

I am looking forward to 7.10 and will try to draft a quick review once I
have it running for a couple of months.

One thing I like is the multiplatform support, we have reasonable
successfully installed it on ibooks and powerbooks.

On another note completely, does anyone find MTNInternet via GPRS
unusable except to access www.mtn.co.ug? What is the Infocom offering
like?
