A kernel container is a group of processes "boxed" in. resources are
abstracted by the kernel for each container. Containers are much faster than
virtualised guest OS's.

The down side is that while a virtualised guest runs its own kernel,
containers run on/in the host's kernel so stuff like running
slackware(guest) on RedHat(host) are not possible.
