Rule #1 does apply very much these days: keep all your systems uptodate. even just installing SP3 is not enough, you have to run the updates every patch-tuesday.
a good tool i used to use was autopatcher, as it allows to downlaod the update only once. i got a copy from 2 moths back (i think), which has all patches post SP3 with it. If people are interested, let me know, i have to find a way to make it available. if anyone is a total hero, he figures out how to point the autopatcher executable to an alternative download source (a non samba share). In that case, we could build an M$ cache as well. Only problem being, its illegal. but eh, everything in our line of business can be made illegal on the spot these days) rgds, Reinier Battenberg Director Mountbatten Ltd. +256 782 801 749 www.mountbatten.net Be a professional website builder: www.easysites.ug On Thursday 26 March 2009 17:04:05 McTim wrote: > On 3/26/09, Peter Lubambula <[email protected]> wrote: > > Sure this isn't an elaborate April Fool's joke? > > Quite sure, Internet infrastructure folks are very concerned. > > Noah will have more when he comes back from the IETF meeting, I think > there was a meeting there about Conficker mediation.
