I am trying to do preliminary investigations on how to provide internet to our regional offices. Does anybody know of a cheap, reliable internet connection? Some of he areas I am looking for coverage in is Mbale, Jinja, Kigumba (Masindi).
The link does not have to be high speed (we only have a 128Kbit synchronous connection at our national office). Reliability and cost effective are the main factors. I would do a VPN tunnel for the internal traffic (Lotus Notes) and let the internet traffic (web, smtp, pop, etc) go directly (to not load our main line). Would it be feasible to put "parent" squid proxies in these regional offices to a "child" squid proxy at our national office as they might get better connection out there?
