i am in no way a doomsday prophet,
however the eassy cable and other under sea optic fibre cables will
only solve less than 20% of our current Internet problems.

Similar cable efforts in West and Southern Africa, have not
significantly changed their fortunes.

The advantages of the EASSY cable are obvious, however having a big
Lake, like L. Victoria (or is it Nalubaale)  does not automatically
translate into piped water, to the people of Uganda. Countries in
deserts are actually better off.
