According to Wikipedia it went at the beginning of this year.

Sun will typically make support available for a minimum of five (5) years after
the Last Ship Date. Sun may elect to cease offering support for a specific
Hardware or Software Products before the end of the five-year Sun Spectrum EOSL
period. If this occurs, Sun will provide Customers with at least three months'
notice of its plans to discontinue support. Sun documentation refers to the Sun
Spectrum EOSL by month and year for Products, for example 7/2003. The last day
of the applicable month is the Sun Spectrum EOSL Date for a given product. If
Sun accelerates the End of SunSpectrum Service Life Date, then Sun's sole
obligation regarding then existing support contracts will be to provide a
pro-rata credit on the service contract line item

Unfortunately this would be an extremely vague statement. Which by my read
basically says Sun may or may not support the hardware for 5 years.

note the line "existing support contracts"

Nah ignore me George long day, and an itchy return key.

Ah ha specifics. Now were talking. I'd suggest putting a support chat in
http://www.sun.com/contact/sales.jsp

Sorry guys. I seem to have concentrated only on the Sun Fire E2900 and I
couldn't find anything specific to it. My apologies.

Dear all,
Has anyone got an idea for how long Sun continues to offer support for a
product has reached its End of Life?

Regards
George Lule
