Maybe he should realize that Apple is a hardware company and OSX is just part of an overall package or experience. In my opinion he should focus his time on getting ubuntu installed by default by more manufactures or use some of the money to market ubuntu and place it more prominently in stores. It was pretty bad the way Microsoft muscled linux out of the netbook market.
