Redhat joins S&P 500 index, that measure of the health of US economy.
Not to be confused with the "Fortune 500", the S&P 500 index is a
weighted index of the share prices of a sampling of publicly traded
companies in different industries. How the index moves provides an
indication of the well-being of the economy.
All this means then is that Linux has come of age, when a Linux
company can be considered important enough in the economy to be used
in the measure of its health. More here:
