That's why you can't rely on a single cable system. Luckily, west Africa have another ambitious cable in the works - aptly names, WACS: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WACS_(cable_system) TEAMS and EASSy will be a necessity to ensure continued submarine access to the world.
