Rob,

Thanks, but I'm really looking for NON clones. For what they'll be used for, I can't have testing/instability issues, so I want the real deal :)

Hey Kyle

You might want to check with Huwai and ZTE if they are still operational
for exact copies of the Ericsson boxes. At a much lower price. Best to
test one first as some copies of teir Cisco clones had some software
hiccups.

Hey all,

Standard USB dongles seem to be a bit crap, so at one of our sites we swapped the MTN data sim-card out of that and put it into the white Ericsson FCT box MTN gives out for use as a GPRS modem for an accompanying black phone hand-set which plugs into it.

The standard USB dongle would randomly disappear under Linux, and so creating an auto-re-dialer system was difficult as ttyACM0 would completely disappear, however the white Ericsson box, when plugged into the same system via USB, works like a charm.

I want to buy like 10 of these white Ericsson boxes, but MTN will not sell them to me for less than 500,000 without a phone contract to go along with them -- in which case they would be 215,000. Any idea where I can get 5 or 10 of these things around for a reasonable price? I unfortunately don't have the model number on hand.

Thanks
-Kyle
