Hi,

I spent a lovely free evening at a friends place who is about to switch to
Kubuntu.

She is using UTL ISDN and has the corresponding USB modem.

I can plug in the modem, it is recognized and all. I installed KPPP and
created the modem, with the right /dev/ABCD, hardware acceleration and speed.

Then I create a connection. Wether I choose PAP, CHAP or PAP/CHAP does not
make a difference.

What happens when I dial is that the modem is reset with ATZ, then follows an
ATDT0491000 which dials UTL.

And if i am lucky in some instances, i then get a message "connecting to
network"

I know at that moment I am receiving data, I can see that if I enter the above
commands with a manual terminal connection.

But this is where everything stops.

I think it has something to do with the authentication (and I cant rule out we
are using the wrong password altogether).

Another option could be I am using the wrong initialization string for the
modem.

Is there anyone that has succeeded in doing this before? If we can solve this,
i will make sure to put a manual on the website.
