Hi Godwin, Another option is to just type netstat -i <orange modem interface> on your Ubuntu box this should give you the interface stats as per that session and considering that modem interface is used only for the internet you should get an approximate average of the amount of data through that interface. To simplify it you can write a script to dump this at the end of every session and after time another script adds up the total because i believe most likely Orange is also using interface usage statistics to rate your bundle.
Your statistics will contain heartbeats and other link packets but the difference shouldn't be very great. Hope this helps P.S i must say vnstat does look good, hahhaaahh though it should be a script depending on netstat -i hahahhhahahhhahah Rgrds, Simon Everyday is a new day, making it a good day is what counts. ________________________________ From: godwin <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tue, March 30, 2010 12:54:13 PM Subject: [LUG] How to monitor bandwidth usage for Orange modem in Ubuntu 9.04 Hi LUG, how can I determine the amount of bandwidth used up on my Orange modem coz I subscribe for the Internet usage in bundles.
