Hi, I got the same experience with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS & Dell Optiplex GX260 and even after doubling the 512mb RAM that was in the Optiplex GX260, I was only successful with the installation however the system kept on freezing. The quickest option was to down grade to 9.04 that works perfectly.
