Thank you Simon, I managed to install all the files needed to enable me print from a linux machine to a printer shared by a windows machine. In the first place, I didnt edit ma sources.list file, but replaced it with yours because I realised the differences where many. In the second place, I could not install foomatic-bin even with your repositories, but I think it is not necessary because I have managed to work with out it. Three: I have still failed to use the help given by this page: http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/Debian-and-Windows-Shared-Printing/printing_to_windows.html and went to the system, Administrative and Printing, added the printer and did all the things straight away. Thank you very much all those who have helped achieve this, I think I can now go home!
