The division of Science & Technology and ICT of the African Union Commission (AUC) has launched the First call for proposal of the African Union Research grant (2011).
This programme is designed to respond to the Africa’s Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action (CPA) developed by the AUC through the Conference of Ministers in charge of Science and Technology (AMCOST). It is one of the AU lighthouse projects identified as early deliverables in the Partnership 8 of the EU-Africa Joint Strategy and its Action Plan, funded through the Financing Agreement made between the EC and ACP Group of States under the ACP Research for Sustainable Development Programme of the 10th EDF Intra-ACP Envelope. The African Union Commission through its Department of Human Resources, Science and Technology is the Delegated Regional Authority for the African Component of the Programme.
This first call for Proposals for 2011 will support the research in the following thematic areas: 1/. Post-harvest and Agriculture; 2/. Renewable and Sustainable Energy; 3/. Water and Sanitation.
