Hi Guys, I need some help, with something unrelated. I am using Symatec backup exec 2010 for backup, but I can't seem to get the compression right. Without compression the tape should hold half it's stated total capacity, but with compression it can hold it's full stated capacity. My backup is set up, but after reaching about 400GB, the backup application requests for another tape, the tapes are marked *Assuming 2:1 compression. I have tried to enable software encryption(it was previously h/w encryption) but under the media(tape) statistics tab, I still see 1:1 compression, any ideas on how I can change settings in Symantec to allow for 2:1 compression on the media and thus allow me to use only 1 tape for a given backup job? The total capacity of the tape is 800GB*
