Sorry to be a zealot but openSUSE has daily (and sometimes hourly) updated
repositories of almost every linux app under the sun. The OpenSUSE Build
Service (http://open-build-service.org) is an amazing platform for package
creation. And it also works for Fedora, Debian and Ubuntu.

Give SUSE some love!
