Document management is not Drupal's strong force. For real document management
look at
www.alfresco.com
www.nuxeo.org
www.knowledgetree.com
Nuxeo is the only complete open one.
There is also a FLOSS google-docs like solution, where the whole editing is
done online as well. (and there is even a drupal module for that). Cant
remember the name though.
