Hallo,

"Garage48 Kampala <http://garage48.org/kampala> weekend rocked big time"
were the words used by our *platinum sponsor* to describe the just concluded
event.

Tech enthusiasts and developers gathered at the MTN warehouse in Ntinda for
this awesome event.

Almost 30 ideas where pitched however participants narrowed down to 11 ideas
and 11

Several participants spent the night at the venue in order to get things
done.

Somesha 
<http://garage48.org/blogger/somesha-will-educate-children-through-crowd-funding-platform>emerged
overall winner of the event. It is a platform to educate children through
crowd funding.

Garage48 foundation board member Ragnar Sass said “It was Garage48 most
successful event in Africa so far and put Uganda into startup
entrepreneurs world
map. I hope that this mind blowing experience will boost the culture of
startups and entrepreneurship in all East-Africa.”

MyTicket was chosen as best mobile app and it received a special prize
fromMTN Uganda<http://www.mtnplay.com/appcomp/DeveloperMain.aspx>
.

Zword, was chosen as the funniest project, it can now be downloaded from the
Android Market

Ninja Kids was voted as favourite of the audience
